LaLiga Matchday 1 ran from Saturday 15 to Thursday 27 August 2026. On 13 August, LaLiga postponed Celta Vigo v Osasuna from 16 August to 27 August because Balaídos' pitch was not in a suitable condition. The change was reported by El País and Cadena SER.
If all ten matches sit in one ScoreSocial gameweek, predictions must be complete before the earliest included kickoff. Later fixtures do not create a second chance to edit a submitted opening-round card.

Alavés, Real Madrid and Barcelona supplied the correct winner without the exact margin. Deportivo's 1-1 draw, Atlético's 2-0 win and Betis' 1-0 win at Valencia landed exactly as published. The official Barcelona results page verifies the 2-0 win over Athletic Club. Celta Vigo v Osasuna also finished 1-2, but remains void in ScoreSocial because it was materially moved after the round was published and was excluded before the rearranged kickoff.

A strange pre-season and several important arrivals
Barcelona have added Karim Adeyemi from Dortmund, giving them a direct runner who can stretch a back line even when he does not start. A 4-1 training-match win over Europa offered an early look at the wider squad, but Adeyemi did not feature and the delayed Athletic Club fixture leaves extra time for combinations to settle.
Atletico Madrid's acquisition of Alejandro Grimaldo adds proven delivery and experience on the left. Their 3-1 friendly defeat by Manchester City was less comforting, though it should be read alongside the line-ups and a shortened post-World Cup preparation. Real Madrid v Real Sociedad
Real Madrid's home fixture will attract confident picks, but the prediction still needs a view on Real Sociedad's scoring prospects. Use confirmed team news rather than assuming every leading player starts.
