Do NHL picks include overtime and shootouts?

Yes. ScoreSocial NHL winner picks use the official final winner, including overtime and shootouts when played. A player who chooses the home team is correct if that team wins in a shootout. The pick is not settled from the regulation-time score. There is no draw choice and no exact-score prediction in an NHL gameweek.

How are winner points awarded?

A correct home or away winner earns the points configured for the league. An incorrect winner does not earn correct-winner points. Use the published scoring settings as the source of truth; do not assume a points value from another league’s example. The weekly table records the round and the season table combines its gameweek points.

How should deadlines work?

Agree and publish the gameweek deadline before opening entries. It should come before the first game included in the round. A round can contain games on several dates, but that does not imply a separate deadline for every pick. Include a time zone when announcing the deadline to a group spread across countries.

What if a game changes after the round opens?

The organiser should review the actual fixture status and communicate any change. Do not score an unplayed game as an incorrect prediction. A fixture marked void is excluded from scoring. Do not replace it silently with another fixture once members have made their choices. Keep the correction understandable in the round’s record.

Which rules should every participant see?

Publish the winner-points value, final-winner definition, round deadline and cancellation policy. Tell participants where to report a result question. For Pro, Team and Enterprise seasons that also contain Football or NFL rounds, explain that each gameweek has one sport and contributes to the combined season standings; there is no automatic promise of separate sport tables.

Read the NHL setup guide for the organiser workflow or compare supported sports. These are rules for ScoreSocial picks, rather than an exhaustive account of the NHL’s rules of play.
