What is an NHL prediction league?
An NHL prediction league lets a group choose the winners of selected NHL games and compare their picks in a private table. The organiser selects the fixtures and deadline; players choose a home or away winner for each game. ScoreSocial uses confirmed final results to calculate the round and season standings. You predict team results without drafting a fantasy roster or choosing individual player statistics.
Do overtime and shootouts count?
Yes. NHL picks use the official final winner, including overtime or a shootout when played. If you choose the home team and it wins in a shootout, that is a correct winner pick. A regulation-time tie is not a final draw prediction. There is no exact-score requirement, so the group does not need to predict a shootout-adjusted score.
How do you choose an NHL round?
Select preseason, regular season or playoffs, choose the required date window and review the available games. NHL schedules do not follow one simple weekly slate, so the organiser decides which games belong to the round. Each gameweek contains NHL fixtures only. Check local dates and time zones when games take place overnight for members in another country.
What should your group agree first?
Agree the winner points, the submission deadline and how the organiser will handle postponed or cancelled games before opening the first round. Tell players that overtime and shootouts count. Keep the number of fixtures manageable so the group can complete picks consistently, and review the settled recap when the last game finishes.
Which plan do you need?
Choose a primary sport when you create a league. Free and Starter gameweeks use that sport. Pro, Team and Enterprise organisers can select Football, NFL or NHL before fetching a gameweek’s fixtures. Each gameweek has one sport; points from those gameweeks contribute to the same season standings. Golf remains a separate event with its own plan allowance.
